Maybe you need computer skills to make yourself more marketable. The libraries of Wake County offer workshops for introduction to Internet and E-mail and
Microsoft Word and Office. The best part is, its free.
Here is a list of libraries offering job search assistance:
- Cameron Village Library, 1930 Clark Avenue, Raleigh - Get free resume and online job application assistance in our Computer Lab. A Technology volunteer will be on hand to assist patrons on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, please call 856-6703.
- Express Library, 336 Fayetteville St., Raleigh - Are you looking for a job? A job specialist will be in the library to provide free assistance with resume, job search strategies, and interviewing techniques on a first-come, first-serve basis. For more information, please call 856-6690
- Holly Springs Library, 300 W. Ballentine St. Holly Springs - Are you looking for a job? Volunteers from Access JobLink AmeriCorps will be in the library to provide assistance with resume writing, job search strategies, and interviewing techniques. Registration required. - Eva Perry Regional Library, 2100 Shepherd's Vineyard, Apex - Drop in to talk with Dennis Hickey from JobLink Career Centers. As an Employment Advisor, he can help you to improve your resume and your job search techniques. No appointment necessary, first come, first served.

The following libraries offer computer classes:
- Southeast Regional Library, 908 7th Ave, Garner - This class is intended for: people who have not used a computer or have not used a computer since before they had mice or for new PC users. Anybody is welcome to take this class but it is very basic. For example, you will learn how to turn the PC on and off and how to use a mouse. If you have your own computer and are comfortable using it, this class may be too basic for you. No Registration Necessary. Class starts before Library hours, please come to the front door for access.
- Wendell Library, 207 S. Hollybrook Rd., Wendell - Introduce the top 10 changes in Office 2007 and self-help training resources. Registration is required. Sign-up at the library or call 365-2600.
