The Art of Creating Your Own Opportunity: Consulting vs. Contracting, July 27

Sheyenne Kreamer, CEO and Founder of Triangle Solutions Alliance, Inc., will discuss “The Art of Creating Your Own Opportunity: Consulting vs. Contracting.” She will help clarify differences between contracting and consulting, explain key pieces to finding and landing consulting projects, and share tools and processes available to people who wish to explore this path. Sheyenne was engaged in multi-discipline project management in manufacturing before becoming a successful consultant, recruiter and speaker.

ExecuNet Meeting set for July 21

The ExecuNet Meeting is set for July 21 from 8:30-10:30a.m. at Cafe Carolina & Bakery.

The purpose of this meeting is to provide a forum for executives and professionals at compensation levels of $100,000+ to exchange career leads.

A roster of participants including contact information is handed out at the meeting. A complimentary resume evaluation is available. Recruiters are welcome. Dress is business casual.

Job Assistance Programs Offered at area Libraries

Wake County residents who are unemployed can get free job assistance at the following libraries:

Cameron Village Library, 1930 Clark Ave., Raleigh 919-856-6710
Free resume and online job application assistance in the Computer Lab on Tuesdays from 4–5 p.m. and Thursdays from 6–7 p.m. A technology volunteer will be on hand to assist patrons on walk-in-only basis (first-come, first-served) with resumes and online applications.

Her company provides a wide variety of clients with administrative, accounting, scientific/clinical research and IT professionals, and has received several Pinnacle and Fast 50 awards.

On Tuesday, June 22, at our usual time and place, 9-11 a.m. in Room 301 of the Calvin Bldg., we will have as our special guest speaker, Paul Dean, who will discuss “Networking Your Way into a New Career.” Profiled in the May 23 News & Observer, Paul was laid off three separate times from Nortel. He’ll talk about how he began using tips from a book to start over, network and launch a new career, help found Triangle Networking Group and become an active user of social media to promote his career.
