Office of the Governor
IBM Lender Business Process Services Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of International Business Machines Corp., will hire 600 workers during the next two years and invest $3.7 million to open a managed business process service center in Research Triangle Park. A state Job Development Investment Grant helped make the project possible.
William Blackmon will be leading "LinkMeIn” training on Friday, July 16. The Basics class begins at 8:30 a.m. and the Next Steps / Advanced class begins at 12:30 p.m. This event is a two-part training course ideal for any professional interested in creating an online profile as well as those who wish to learn how to enhance their existing profile.
Newcomers to the U.S. can face unique challenges in seeking employment. This class will help unlock the “mystery” of finding work in the states. Topics include job search techniques, interview preparation, transferring degrees and certifications, and local labor laws. This four-day training will be held at the Northern Wake campus 6/28-7/2 and 8/2-8/6.

The Capital Area Workforce Development Board, composed of Wake and Johnston counties, will open four new NC SHARE (Sharing How Access to Resources Empowers) Network Access Points on Thursday, June 24, 2010, at 11 a.m. NC SHARE Network Access Points are faith-based or community organizations where job seekers can go in their own communities to look for jobs.
