Career Development Facilitator, Patty Edwards Shaver, will guide Career explorers from 9 a.m. - Noon in using the following career planning tools to chart their career course:
ASSESS: Looking Within
Self-assessments help career explorers to better understand their interests, skills, abilities, personality and work values.
EXPLORE: Finding Direction
Career exploration tools help career explorers find occupations that are a good fit.
The Adult and Dislocated Worker Stimulus program is offering help to the unemployed and underemployed enter the workforce as quickly as possible. The program is comprised of classroom training and on-the-job training. The classroom training component will be offered through the community college system with their new JobsNOW program. The on-the-job training will place participants in jobs for up to three to six months with local businesses with the expectation of continued
employment at the end of the on the job training period.

Trinity Baptist Church is hosting a FREE 1 week, 5 day course. The course, led by Career Development Facilitator, Patty Shaver, will enable an unemployed person to get the ball rolling with a step by step combination of classroom instruction and same day supervised lab work aimed solely at preparing to begin a job search. The classroom sessions will be offered Monday through Friday 9am- noon, followed by the lab sessions from 1-4pm.
