Wake County News
The Capital Area Workforce Development Board, composed of Wake and Johnston counties, will open four new NC SHARE (Sharing How Access to Resources Empowers) Network Access Points on Thursday, June 24, 2010, at 11 a.m. NC SHARE Network Access Points are faith-based or community organizations where job seekers can go in their own communities to look for jobs.
The new Access Points will be located at:
Family Life Center, Inc., 909 E. Lee St., Smithfield
First Reformed Church of Cary, 555 SW Maynard St., Cary
Literacy Council of Wake County, 916 W. Morgan St., Raleigh
The Life Enrichment Center, Inc., 3805 Tarheel Club Road, Raleigh
Access Points customers are assisted by trained volunteers who connect them to the JobLink system via computers, and help them to obtain referrals for online job searches, resume preparation and other services necessary to find a job. These sites will also increase the number of locations providing access to JobLink services, while enhancing community awareness of JobLink services.
The new Access Points are a partnership between Capital Area Workforce Development Board, U.S. Department of Labor, U.S. Division of Employment and Training, Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships and North Carolina Division of Workforce Development.
